Sponsors a wide range of workshops and experiential courses in shamanic training throughout North America and abroad. The workshops focus on the principles of "core shamanism", the universal and near-universal basics of shamanic practice that can be used in one's personal life in contemporary Western society, especially for the restoration of spiritual power, for health and well-being, for helping others, and for a new sense of spiritual integration with all species.
"Soul retrieval can accomplish in one or two sessions what can take
years in psychotherapy. Miracles happen when you work in the domain of
the sacred."

Four Winds Society Foundation Programs:
Advanced Inka Medicine Wheel
Healing the Luminous Body
Mastery Program for Alto Mesayoqs
Evolutionary quantum leaps have always occurred when we were faced with possible extinction. Now at such a threshold, we are discovering the neurological tools that medicine people and visionaries have mastered so elegantly, and used to quantum leap into the future. They can enter a quantum physics domain not bound by the ordinary definitions of space and time, a trans-temporal reality where one can hear the voices of the Ancient Ones on the wind, heal one's past and summon one's destiny. In this hands-on training you will experience a 100,000 year old tradition of power and knowledge for working with the energies of Heaven and Earth.
We will journey through the fourfold path of the Inka Medicine Wheel to
heal and renew ourselves and awaken our "body of light".
Participants will learn core techniques for,
Throughout the program we will explore the "Karpays"- the rites of passage of the Kurak Akulleq traditions of the Inkas - the mystery teachings that can be known but not told.
In the Medicine Wheel, one sheds one's personal history and acquits oneself of the past, frees oneself from fear by learning the ways of the Luminous Warrior, discovers the ways of the Sage, and learns to walk with beauty along the way of the Visionary. You will take home practicable, powerful skills you can use in your daily lives.
Brant Secunda
The Dance of the Deer Foundation was founded in 1979 to support the
Huichol Indians in keeping their shamanic traditions alive and to bring
the power and joy of this ancient wisdom into our modern lives. It is
located in the Santa Cruz Mountains of California and in Southern France
in the heart of Cévennes National Park. It is directed by Brant Secunda,
a shaman and ceremonial leader.
The Foundation sponsors seminars, pilgrimages and ongoing study groups throughout the world, particularly in the U.S., Mexico and Europe. These programs are often held at beautiful and sacred places of power. They emphasize the importance of ceremony for personal well-being and for the continued survival of the environment and Mother Earth.
Participants in these programs experience Huichol ceremonies, the sacred Dance of the Deer, vision quests and pilgrimages to places of power. They learn practices of shamanic health and healing, and the use of dreams to guide and empower their lives. They also learn how to approach sacred places of power and how to bring that power into their hearts to help them live more balanced lives.
The Foundation was inspired by don José Matsuwa, the renowned Huichol shaman who passed away in 1990 at the age of 110. A part of the proceeds from all Foundation activities and art exhibitions goes directly to support the Huichols, don José Matsuwa's village and extended family.
With this in mind, we present our programs for 1997 and invite you to join us for an extraordinary opportunity to experience Huichol Indian Shamanism.
